Ringneck Energy’s shiny new 80- to 100-million-gallon/year ethanol plant was hailed at its grand opening June 25 as the most efficient in the United States and as a showcase of Sukup Manufacturing Co. material handling and grain storage equipment.
This spring, the Iowa legislature enacted an Iowa sales tax exemption for grain bins, which Governor Reynolds signed into law on May 3, 2019. This exemption is found in House File 779 and will be effective July 1, 2019.
On Thursday, May 16, Living History Farms, GoServ Global, Polk County Farm Bureau, and Sukup Manufacturing Co. will build a Sukup Safe T Home® as a new feature of Living History Farms. The build will occur while the museum is open, allowing guests—including hundreds of Iowa schoolchildren—to observe the process. The museum opens at 9am and closes at 4pm. Several special guests will gather at 2pm at the build site to commemorate the project. The build and especially the 2 o’clock ceremony are open to the press.
The Manufacturing Institute announced they will award Emily Schmitt with the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Award. The STEP Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to the C suite.
